• Underground water reticulation system to self-water plants
• Vacuum flushing toilets onboard vessels use < 1 litre of water compared to dual flush which use > 6 litres

Carbon Friendly Ferry travel vs car travel

Ferry travel, as an alternative to the drive around the bay can save 43.28kg of Green House Gas emissions.


Green House Gas emissions (Carbon footprint) associated with taking the ferry are 8.27kg CO2-e per car per trip, compared to 52kg CO2-e if the car was driven the 206km around the bay.

Solar Powered!

Searoad Ferries administration building is 100% powered by 54 Australian made Solar Panels of green energy.

The 34kW of panels will also provide 100% of the daytime power use for the new Queenscliff Terminal when it is completed.
